I get a lot of questions from people who move into their apartment and are completely stifled on how to set up their apartment…
Start with sitting down with peice of paper and a pencil (tape measure a must!).
Over the years I’ve seen some really creative ideas for space saving in a small apartment. One of my all time favorites is the young lady (petite) with a raised bed and the bedroom dresser chairs and other miscellaneous furniture underneath. With a little bit of thought and ingenuity you can come up with some really cool floor plans and very cool pad fit for a King…(or Queen).
Here are some guidelines…list of things to always keep
Begin by deciding whether to get rid of what you have or if your things are worth saving. Is the piece the right size for your new space, is it in good condition, is it comfortable, or does it have special meaning to you.
Don’t just dump your crap in the common areas or you’ll hear from “The Manager”…Nobody wants to hear from that creep! put an ad in Craigslist and the piece will be gone in an hour!

Like stuff you never use, books you’ll never read again, things that are too big or too old, pillows that look old and dated, chairs that are uncomfortable, magazines, newspapers, and personal papers that you won’t ever need again.Get yourself a nice little tool kit with a power drill, believe me it will be well worth you’re money!
Find ways to make one room serve two or more purposes. Storage areas can easily be made into entertaining areas or party rooms…Don’t party after midnight or you’ll her from
“The Manager”Hang your bike and pots and pans from the ceiling to save room, there’s an awful lot of empty space up there!
The main thing is think “Creative!”
